Urban Dolls Contextual Report / Mum who am I?
This is my Contextual Report for my final year project. In this paper, I propose that there is no need to undergo expensive, psychologically and physically painful procedures in finding your perfect look. Essential parts of the human psyche - confidence and self-esteem - could be easily lifted and ‘healed’ not just by a few cuts and stitches made by the surgeon, but also by through various design contexts and practises.
Throughout my research I have developed two areas of interest, which are conflicting. I do like this idea of creating designs for people who feel a ‘need’ to fit into constraining stereotypes, as well as the idea - to create new objects, new forms by applying surgical procedures (taking away or adding) to already existing practises or designs.

Barbican Lates | Christmas Bazaar
These are little brooches I have made to sell at Barbican. They all hand stitched, designed and made by me. Aren’t they cute? Yes, they are… I think so too… :))))

The Archaeology of Futures. Sandra
Sandra Kit
Plastic, metal and mixed materials,
USA , Europe and Japan, 2020
Sandra plastic surgery kit was a revolutionary example
of domestic surgery. It became popular with large
numbers of ordinary people who were interested in building
self-confidence. It was, however, always controversial in
medicine circles, as people could perform procedures
( Abdominoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Mammoplasty, Labiaplasty,
Rhinoplasty, Otoplasty, Rhytidectomy, Suction-assisted
lipectomy, Chin augmentation, Cheek augmentation
and etc. ) without consulting with a specialist.
As a consequence a lot of deaths occurred.
A kit consists of : a mirror, face/body sanding, grating,
buffing, measuring, stretching, blade and laser
cutting, suction and filling equipment.

The Archaeology of Futures. Story
Morning. Dark Autumn morning.
Wake up. Shower. Wardrobe.
Coffee. Newspaper. Pen.
Dark circles on the top of smiling faces.
Scared / Shattered.
No mirrors. No looking at reflection .
Leaving.
Wind plays in my hair.
I look like I am on fire.
Falling leaves.
I am grey. Grey like a winged bat.
Grey like a rat searching in the scrap-heap.
I am not here.
I am scared. Not looking at the passers by.
I am different. I am ugly.
Eyes are counting gaps between the
pavement tiles.
Wow… Said almost out loud.
Pupils have expanded after spotting a little
brown box standing by the taxi rank.
Sandra…
Heart is shaking. I am feeling sick.
Slowly.
She is in my hands.
Safe.
By my ear.
Shake.
There is something inside.
By my chest.
Heart is beating louder and louder.
Echo.
Cannot remember.
I am at home.
I am not scared of the mirror!
He is not going to bite me.
Not any more!
Bravely.
Lid is opened.
Shaky hands take Sandra out.
Start / On.
Cutting, sanding, shaping and re-shaping.
My ugly face.
Measuring my body…
Stapling it.
Enlarging / reducing.
I am in control and I am pretty!
Off.
Sandra, I love you…

November 2009
The Archaeology of Futures. Workshop by El Ultimo Grito
The aim of this workshop is to create both objects and narrative contexts as one single outcome. During the development process the first would feed the second and one vice versa in order to achieve new kinds of product typology that would talk about possible futures and the way we picture and interpret them right now.
Starting from three or more objects from the 1 pound shop around the corner and then joining them togehter these objects, or just a part of them, through an intuitive exploration of shapes and the language of objects, would lead to ‘bizare’ and ‘imaginary’ constructs that are able to talk abstract uses away from more known typologies of use.
All the objects are painted white in order to erase, on one side, their ‘past lives’, as these are not meant to be understood as ready-mades but as objects in their own right.

Design Is Dead, Long Live Design
This projects was one week joint project , where second & third year students had a chance to meet and design together. I was working alongside of: Brittany Gragham (3rd year) and Danny Morgan, Alice B., Nicolette (2nd year). As a group we had to create 30 copies of A5 size leaflet promoting our topic :Design is Pollution. Promoting our ideas, instead of 30 copies we made 110.Being a ‘bit cheeky’, playing with closed cards, without revealing our main arguments to our opponents: Design is NOT Pollution, we had few strong arguments ready for the big day: Friday 13 November.
